Summary:

  • Traumatic experience occurred before, at birth, or within first few days of life. Centered around hostility received from a parent (anger, or parent not wanting child, or trauma causing child to be emotionally abandoned--could be any slight disconnection between mother and child). This creates a fear that he/she has no right to exist.

  • In response, the child drew back into the spirit world, someplace "away." This becomes habitual for the person. They leave their bodies easily and regularly. To compensate, they try to hold themselves together on the personality level, speaking in absolutes, depersonalized, and tend to intellectualize, which actually only makes them feel more separate from life and not truly existing. The adult continues to experience the world as a cold, hostile place, where isolation is forced on anyone who wants to survive, which creates much internal rage.

  • Body Effects: the head is often held to one side, with a vague or faraway look in the eyes. Their body parts are not firmly held together or integrated (due to "leaving" so much). Usually uncoordinated, with weak joints, and often a twist in the spine from twisting away from the material world. They may have begun masturbating early in childhood to feel "alive" & to compensate for not connecting with others
  • This person needs to strengthen the boundaries that define who he/she is, and to feel his/her strength in the physical world. They need to create loving, warm connections and receive nourishment from other humans to counteract their tendency to believe the world is a hostile place. This can come only after releasing their inner rage and existential terror. They are usually very spiritual people who have a deep sense of the profound purposes of life. They are creative people with many talents, but their inner rage & terror keeps them from integrating their talents & creativity & being successful. They need to materialize their spirituality in the material world.
