RELATIONSHIPS ARE COMPLICATED

Like You

You are only good to me when you want something from me,
Or if being good to me makes you look good.
Predictable male.
I didn’t know if I could trust you.
I said you were unpredictable.
They said so too.
We were wrong.
But you don’t know what that means.
Admit imperfection?  Ha.

I can’t trust you.
I can’t kiss you.

Sometimes I try to play along.
I throw it back at you and see how you take it. 
But you don’t care.
You turn your head from the ugliness you see reflected through me.
What’s her problem?

What do you care that I care for your friends?
I’m not careless.
Like you.

Some boys are good for a kiss,
Others more,
Others less.
I judge who to share my affections with,
And I do not push.
Like you.

Booty call, hop in the van.
You can’t resist.
No thank you.
I don’t trust you.
